Try this on the Sephora website

I was having a rough day, but I still needed to get a post written. “Maybe there’s something new at Sephora that will give me inspiration.”

I went over to the site, but I switched my approach. What if I just typed what I wanted to feel into the search bar. “Happy” went in, and then the results came up. Of course there was Rare Beauty and their products with that color name. And then I got curious. “Angry,” “Sad,” Depressed,” “Confused,” all went in to the search bar. And I started to just have fun seeing what was suggested. By and large it was fragrance, and a lot of it was from BornToStandOut. Clearly I need to get to know that brand.

Then from there, I started asking questions of the AI Beauty Tool which I had never engaged with before:

I have had a really rough day. What product would you suggest for me to feel better?

And it made suggestions that were supposed to help. To be honest, as much as I love sunscreen, that was not going to cut it. I told it to do better. It suggested fragrance for an instant pick-me-up. I can get with that.

I think when it comes with how we navigate websites, we can have a little bit more fun.

What have you tried when it comes to how you the search functions on retail sites?
