For some people, a luxury hotel is just not worth it. They look at the cost and immediately start looking elsewhere, or after they rant about the ridiculousness of it all. For others though, they see luxury and see the perfect spot for a future vacation. Perhaps that’s you. Or maybe it could be. Here’s some reasons it may be worth it to stay at a luxury hotel.

Loyalty points- If you are able to book a stay using reward points, and not actual money, it is definitely worth it.
Bed- Come on. Rest is one of the main reasons you went on vacation. Shouldn’t you let yourself sleep on quality linens and the most comfortable mattress? Add to that, there are sometimes small touches that support your sleep routine, like turn down service, light controls next to the bed, automatic blinds, and if you are so lucky, and full-on sleep focused experience. (Equinox Hotel in New York includes AM and PM Rituals book, guiding your through practices for more energy and better sleep.)
Amenities- Do you want to just walk downstairs and head to a spa treatment? Would you like the use of the property car or complimentary drop offs by a driver? Would it be helpful to have an itinerary built out for you by the concierge? Then think about a luxury property.
In-room dining- Many hotels have restaurants on property. Many of them offer in-room dining. Only some of those hotels will offer some of the best meals you will ever have in your life delivered right to your room. For the most part, more luxurious hotels lead to more luxurious meals. (That’s definitely true for Nobu Hotel Atlanta.)
Service- Listen, the class of service you will get a luxury hotel is going to be much higher. After all, you are paying for it. You’re paying for the concierge who goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is impeccable. In addition, there’s the turn down service If you want a responsive service staff, with a dedicated team to support your needs, you might want to stay a luxury hotel. (I still think about the excellent service I received at the Langham Hotel Boston.)
If you want to experience an in-hotel spa, want elevated fitness options, the option for in-room dining, and concierge services, it is certainly worth it. Great luxury comes at a price, but you can find luxury hotels to fit a wider budget than you might think. Think about properties in locations with lower costs of living. A luxury hotel in New York vs Atlanta are going to be very different prices. Also consider going vacation during off peak travel times.
I personally find it worth it stay at these properties, if for no other reason I get come back here to tell you all about it. But for now, I’m off to explore what property I was try visit next.
