I needed a spark. In front of me was Fire by Elorea. Maybe that could light up my motivation.
Here’s the thing. Instead of the warmth of a burning fire, it smelled green. The spritz on my skin smells much more wet, not smoking or full of heat. Not at all what I would expect with the name fire, and not at all the spark I was expecting. On my skin, I don’t get any of the warmth and woodiness they describe. Instead of sitting in front a fireplace, I get sitting in a dew-covered field.

$160 for 50 mL
Top: Lime, lemon, elemi, lavender
Heart: Iris, violet, camellia
Base: Leather, amber, roasted tonka, sandalwood, akigalawood
This is not a scent I could see myself wearing again, unless I started to feel the ping of nostalgia for summers spent playing outside. I personally don’t gravitate towards green fragrances But I imagine on other people’s skin, the woody notes might come forward and provide more balance. Or perhaps, the cut flowers blossom into something more beautiful.
If you’re interested in trying Fire, you can go into one of the Elorea stores in New York, Los Angeles, or Seoul to try it in person. Or you can order a discovery set online to explore on your own time.
