A Wren Says

Imagine this: You are in your feminine era, but you still want to dress sporty. That seems to be the archectype that Sandy Liang designed her SS27 line for. The show took place in an open space with a little castle, perfect for a little girls dream room.  The first look caught my attention as someone who dresses fairly androgynous but is considering how to add more feminine elements. So may call it a simple, basic pullover, but the added diaganol ruffle elevates the wardrobe staple. 

Critics called out the satin dress with trailing ribbons as the standout look.

I’m more so drawn to the way Liang incorporated delicate fabrics with sporty technical elements, such as attached fancy packs and rip cords.

I was not familiar with Liang beyond cute bunnies and a Gap collab. I am glad I had the chance to see this work, and her vision, even though it is not something I would have originally gravitated towards. It’s making me think more deeply about how approach my personal fashion and ways I could evolve my own wardrobe. 

I was able to attend the event as a perk of the Gap Brand’s Encore program. The membership program allows you to unlock experiences with your points, increasing the value of your loyalty. I found the event through their Encore Market platform. On the site there were multiple New York Fashion Week events, along with exclusive products. It’s just one of the ways that it’s more than your typical retail loyalty program.
