If things were different, I would find myself traveling even more. I’d question the need to even have a permanent address because of how often I’d be on the go. This alternate me would be living the real me’s dream.
There are times I sit down in a hotel room and think, “If only this were my career.” What if I could bounce around from property to property, assessing the noise level of the room, putting together an opinion on the bedding, and ordering room service to review the full offerings of the kitchen? I’d go the gym downstairs, ride the elevator to all the floors, and ask questions of the concierge. If things were different I would be able to review hotels and be compensated for it.

As it is now, I do my best to try as many places as I can afford, but there are still so many more that I can’t get to. If only I had the time and money to do it, to review it.
I am making travel more a part of my life these days because of my genuine curiosity. I want to know what makes a hotel worthy of all its stars and what makes a location a must-see destination. To find that out, I need to experience it all. And it all takes time and money.
I wonder if one day I will be able to turn this hobby into something I can keep up more sustainably. If only I could make that dream my reality, here and now.
As a first stop, I would absolutely head to the Cheval Blanc.
