He had a signature look. It was a thick, undeniable mustache that was recognizable. But one day, he shaved it, and no one said a word. So goes the plot of La Moustache, a French thriller that feels sillier than it is. I think about that movie a lot. But let’s think it about in a different way.
What’s your mustache?
I would imagine there is something that you’ve been holding on to. You’ve been asking yourself, “What would people think if I stop/start doing that?” When in reality, they might not even notice or care. It’s you that’s holding yourself back, not their opinions.
Now, truly there is more to the movie than that. I actually recommend you watch it, even if it’s just to say you have. But even more so, I recommend you think about what metaphorical mustache can you finally shave off now.
