I am still working to change my habits. It’s tough to change my diet to take better care of my health. I know it is important, I know it’s needed, but that doesn’t make it any easier. But I’m learning more and more how diet can impact facial appearance. What you eat could potentially impact how attractive you are. Now you have my attention.

A 2024 study by Visine et al took a group of people and measured the glycemic load of their meals throughout the day. They took pictures of the subjects faces throughout. It worked roughly like this: Breakfast. Test glycemic levels 30 minutes later. Then photos 2 hours post breakfast. Repeat with snacks.
They found that when the pictures were rated by strangers, they were more likely to rate those who ate lower glycemic meals as more attractive. Now there was a bit of a difference between men and women, but I’m not going to dive too deep into that for this quick summary. The gist for me is that I have to make this change to get to the skincare results I want.
In the moment, the choice of what to eat seems so simple. I can have a little cheat, and I can just fix my diet later. But based on this study, my body tells the tale now. Or at least, two hours from now, there will be evidence.
As I’m struggling to stick to the plan and eat more healthfully, I can hold on that. The results are there. Which results do you want to see.
