What do maximalism, “hot divorcee summer,” and reality tv have to do with each other? Nothing if not a trend towards being seen. People are moving away from the chokehold of quiet luxury and towards living more colorful expressive lives. Women are developing their own standards of beauty in ways that decenter men, especially those they’ve left behind. And we are all more on show than ever before. The move is towards being more open, more visible, more seen.
What about you?
When we’ve set a cultural norm for being visible, when it is socially acceptable to show up however you are, is now enough for you to feel comfortable to emerge from your hiding spot?
Will you finally start wearing your outfits? Will you start styling your hair the way you’ve always wanted? Will you finally live the life of your dreams?
For me, this is bigger than a beauty and fashion trend; it’s a way of readjusting our world view. Amidst the chaos, there we are. We might as well look stunning while we’re there. What do you really have to lose?
