As an American, ranch dressing is the most basic choice to top a salad. In fact, I go out of my way to find “more exciting” options. But that’s because I was raised with it. Cue the Europeans.
If you are only following the 2026 World Cup through the eyes of TikTokers, you will have learned how those visiting the U.S. have fallen in love with the food here. Specifically, some are now in love with ranch dressing. It’s to the point that the TSA have put out a tweet informing people that the condiment is in fact a liquid. This is lest they be hope to fill their carry-ons beyond the currently allowable limit for liquids. They’ll need to find other ways to transport their newfound love.
Don’t worry Kraft is on it.

The major brand hinted at a “TSA Compliant Ranch” in the works. With an image partially generated with AI, they showed a zip bag that that held multiple dressing packs as well as a limited-edition bag tag. While competitor Hidden Valley could have quickly stolen the show and promoted their powdered mix as a valid option for travelers, Kraft quickly responded two days faster. It’s Kraft not Hidden Valley that has dominated the many news and social media feeds talking about this.
I suppose that’s a lesson. You don’t always have to be the best. Sometimes you just have to be the fastest. Stay aware of the public conversation and stay ready to respond.
