Belgian brand brings new meaning to Bring Your Child to Work Day

Imagine this, you’re a new mom, trying to juggle return to work and a desire to be their for your baby. You’re eager to work, but you realize that you’re missing out on formative moments in your child’s life. Well what if you could just bring your child with you?

Odette Lunettes, a Belgian eyewear brand, is making that a reality.

Through their Babies at Work initiative, employees can bring their three to six month old children to work twice a week. It’s not every day. It’s not a dedicated onsite childcare facility, but it’s a start.

It seems like a nice thing to do, but it is also rooted in a clear business incentive: Reducing staff turnover. If you make it easier for staff to manage life and work, they’ll stay. If your employees stay, you’ll keep the knowledge and relationships with you. And you won’t have to pay for yet another round of hiring.

I say it repeatedly, how to manage and take care of your employees is an underrated way to increase your brands success. Do what you can to support the people who work for you, and they’ll provide for your customers. Take care of your employees, and they’ll take care of business.
