As I prepared to go to sleep in my hotel room, I thought, “Oh, I should turn off the TV.” Then I remembered it wasn’t my TV I was listening to. I had been following the cable news broadcast word for word from the TV in the room next to me. It was loud, and yet I chose to suffer through it and just file that experience away as a reason to maybe avoid the property the future.
So I have to ask, at what point do you complain? How egregious does the problem have to be? Are you the type of person who just files bad experiences away and then quietly decides to never visit that [store/restaurant/company] ever again, never telling anyone who could fix things? On the other side how amazing does your experience have to be before you share it? When will you send that place praise?
Feedback is a good thing. It helps businesses grow and evolve to better meet customer needs and demands. Thinking of my own behavior, it can be hard to come by. This how we ended up with incentivized reviews, after all. So, what about you? When have you given companies feedback and why?
