Maybe I’ll get waffles

“Hey  let me know what the plan is for brunch tomorrow.” I’m hoping we can get the details ironed out soon. We made plans to try a new restaurant and generally enjoy each other’s company over some hopefully good food.

As much as I could find the things in my life to criticize or regret, I like it here. Here is the moment where I am looking up menus and planning outfits. In comparison to what is happening in the world, and even in my own life, this moment seems so small. And yet, it is so important.

Each moment, no matter how small, creates the fabric of my life. All of it matters to create the weaving.  Yes, the job I choose to go after matters, where I choose to live matters, and of course all of the grave and serious issues mater as well. But this one, it matters too.

I won’t neglect the seemingly insignificant moments. I’ll collect them like tiny threads to complete this tapestry that will show my journey. I’ll go back to studying the menu and enjoying every minute of it as my present moment. Maybe I’ll get the waffles.
