Last summer was the first time I played Pickle ball. I was hooked. I finally understood why the sport was sweeping the nation. I kept returning to play that summer on the outdoor courts. As much as I enjoyed playing the game, it seems that brands are paying even more attention. Skincare brand, La Roche Posay, signed on to be the official sunscreen sponsor of the Professional Pickleball Association. This is just one piece of its portfolio of outdoor sports and events, but it is noteworthy.
Succinctly, when thinking about what sponsorship opportunities to pursue, it comes down to fit. Here there is a logical connection between outdoor sport and sunscreen. The product and the activity tie together. This creates opportunities to share product with athletes and sponsors and build awareness about sun protection in an environment where people would be receptive to that information. And on top of that, a lot of people are playing pickleball now. A lot. And that means larger potential reach numbers for this marketing effort. This relationship just makes sense.
