Balenciaga, in its current form, is known for doing odd things. Or more particularly, for taking everyday items and making them high fashion. Call it a rip-off, call it a cultural commentary, but at the end of the day it is just commerce.

I happened to find this Chips Bag while I was scrolling through a luxury shopping website. I have so many questions about why this is exists.
I want to say though, that I am not in the camp of “This is ridiculous. Why make this?” I think it should absolutely exist, because fashion should be fun. There should be a place for leather work to be merged with off the while ideas. Silly ideas doesn’t mean that there isn’t real craft and handiwork going into it.
Would I personally but this? No, not the me that I am currently am. But maybe a me in the future with money to burn and a desire to have a conversation piece as a clutch. Because what better way to lighten the mood at an otherwise stuffy cocktail party?
