For Anna Sui’s SS27 collection, she found herself inspired by fairytales. But not just your standard princess stories. It was the works as represented in the Cushing family’s collection of artwork, along with references to furniture and design.

The collection is a bohemian’s dream. Easy flowing fabrics, florals, punctuated with the models’ hair in loose waves. It is romantic, and dare I say care free.

The florals in this collection are special. Sui was experimenting with digitally aided design techniques to do the embroideries and pattern printing. Up close you can the see the fine needlework that went into the neon florals adorning this pajama like set that I’d like to cozy up in.

The collection is surely the continuation of the Anna Sui girl, that feminine essence that she’s known for and that Gen Z celebrities are coming to love.

I had the chance to see the collection up close in Anna Sui’s show room and hear the designer talk through her inspiration. All of this was a perk of the Gap Brand’s Encore program. The membership program allows you to unlock experiences with your points, increasing the value of your loyalty. I found the event through their Encore Market platform. On the site there were multiple New York Fashion Week events, along with exclusive products. It’s just one of the ways that it’s more than your typical retail loyalty program.
