Sol de Janeiro finally has something for the guys

As I write this, there are just two 2026 FIFA World Cup matches to go before I have to go back to business as usual, no longer building my schedule around when games are on. I’m going to miss it, but what if a little bit of the fútbol magic stuck around? Like in a body spray? That seems to be what Sol de Janeiro is banking on. The brand, known for its Brazilian themed perfume mists and deliciously scented body creams has just debuted cologne mists for guys.

These fragrances are inspired by “Brazilan futebol,” placing them in a sportier marketing profile. However, an even bigger callout is the addition of freshness tech. This long lasting odor neutralizing effect places the fragrance in the same stratosphere as something like Axe, commonly used by young men to fight odor post exercise or sport, or instead of just showering. Beyond the scent, it is clear that they are intentionally catering to the male consumer base. But beyond the technology, what does it smell like?

Cheiroso 10 is “inspired by the 10 jersey worn by the visionary playmaker who defines the game.”

$26 for 90 mL

Notes: Cardomom, pineapple, cedarwood

The number 10 is an attacking player who creates goal scoring opportunities, taking shots and feeding the ball to teammates with well-timed passes.  For this 2026 FIFA World Cup final, the two players who will be wearing this number are Lionel Messi of Argentina and Dani Olmo of Spain. Other majo players who have worn this number include Diego Maradona, Pele, and Ronaldinho.

Cheiroso 7 is a scent “inspired by the 7 jersey worn by the star who lights it up with speed and flair.”

Notes: Lavender, macadamia, vanilla woods

This player is usually found on the wings, attacking down the sides of the field and providing in-swinging crosses. During the final, the players you will see wearing this number will be Rodrigo de Paul of Argentina and Ferran Torres of Spain. Other popular players who wear/wore this number include Cristiana Ronaldo and David Beckham.

The fragrances are available separately for $26 or as a duo for $47. While they are available for order online, they won’t hit Sephora stores until August 14. Hopefully, I will be able to get my hands on these and see how they layer with the classic Cheiroso 62.

Here is a fun thing I just saw on the website. Sol de Janeiro is the official celebration partner of the Washington Spirit, DC’s women’s pro soccer team. We can definitely keep this soccer party going.
