Nestled in Soho is the Augustinus Bader Skin Lab NYC. You just have to find it first. I walked up and down Greene Street certain that my maps had misdirected me. There is no sign on the door. You just have to trust your directions. Finally, I approached the shop at the address and greeted the doorman. Looking at jewelry ahead of me, I asked sheepishly, if it was the Skin Lab. He confirmed I was in the right spot and sent me to the elevator. Once I made it up to the floor, the door opened and officially announced I was in the right location.

I saw a wall of Augustinus Bader products, but it was tight spacing. There was no waiting room, just the registration desk, the treatment room, and another rented space on that floor. As I waited, I could hear two associates from the adjoining space planning for a very expensive personal shopping appointment. Where was I?

When the aesthetician finally came out, she offered me a drink and invited me sign the treatment waiver. And then it was time for me to go in. The room was small but an oasis in the big city. I settled in and made my way onto the treatment table.

I had opted for The Skin Infusion Facial. It was a good way for me to get an understanding of the Skin Lab and start another round of the Skin Infusion. Essentially this facial is a way to set your skin up for the first application of the product and jump start your journey.

Over the next hour, I got a series of techniques and products applied to my face. There was cleansing, steam, LED, extraction, and then most importantly facial massage. I had the wherewithal to take a before picture before leaving out for my appointment. Afterwards, my face was undeniably less puffy.

I left The Skin Lab with a face slathered with products and finished with the facial oil. Mentally, I was already planning for the next time I head to town. I’ve got to find some day to get back in there for another facial.
