The most beautiful cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2 isn’t a person

If you watched the trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, you see Miranda Priestly, standing alone at night in a shopping center. The location is the middle of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a famed luxury shopping haven in Milan. There you’ll find pretty much all of the luxury brands you can think of, surrounded by exquisite architecture. Truely, it is an iconic location in the city. It’s a site for tourists, and I hope to one day be one of them.

Even though I know that if I were to visit, I would not have Miranda’s luck of being the only one to explore the galleria solo. I would be in a sea of tourists and scarcely have the space to admire any of what I would see before me. But something about that makes it even more special. There is a beauty in history being so ingrained in the everyday, that you literally take steps on centuries old art just to get a coffee or do a little window shopping.

I have never been Milan, or Italy at all for that matter. Seeing the scenes in the film reignited a spark to get out there, to yes hopefully experience a fashion week but also to experience the beauty that is always there and has been there for centuries.
