Taking some sips at 6XS Coffee

I walked into 6XS Coffee in Downtown LA, an eager visitor excited to try a new coffee shop. Adding to the new experiences, I went with their Oak Latte, flavored with a corn syrup. Go big or go home, right?

Depending on your cultural background, a drink that tastes of sweet corn may not be new to you. It is, however, very new to me. It was surprising. Perhaps the biggest surprise was that I liked it.

The corn flavor never felt out of place. Each sip was just as enjoyable as the last, until I realized I had not mixed it as instructed and I ended up just drinking a plain latte towards the end of it. If you follow directions and mix your drink, you’ll enjoy that corn flavor for longer.

The Oak Latte is a seasonal menu item, so it may be gone soon. However, if I make it back to L.A., I look forward to trying a new addition or maybe their staple items. Right now there is a Malibu latte with blue curacao that looks like it has a lovely blue layer. (I mean it’s pretty until you mix it.)

If you’re looking for coffee while you’re in Downtown L.A., definitely head over to 6XS.
