During my blisteringly wintery New York trip, I decided it was time to treat myself. No better time than that moment to go to the Louis Vuitton Café. The wisdom of the internet told me that it was booked far in advance and unlikely that one could get a reservation on short notice. I refused to let it go, so I checked the site repeatedly. Luckily, the snowstorm made way for cancellations. I quickly booked for an 11 AM reservation for the next day.
I made my way up to the LV trunk building, only to realize that I was actually supposed to be across the street. I made my way inside, informed the security that I was there for a reservation, and headed up the escalators to the top floor. I got there early, so I browsed while I waited for my time.
Once seated, I ordered the Culinary Journey. It was the best way I could see to try as much of the menu as possible.
The meal started with an amuse bouche of butternut squash soup.

My starter was the Monogram flower ravioli, with maitake mushrooms and black truffle emulsion.
My main was the chicken, served with mashed potatoes. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the accompanying sauce was just the kind of flavor I’d expect at a 5 star restaurant. And the potato serving could have larger to allow me to enjoy it for even longer. There were multiple layers of texture and flavors built into the dish. I completely understand why the server suggested it.
Then to close my meal, I went with the chocolate entremet. If you are not a chocolate lover, it will feel way too rich. Personally, I was starting to wish I had ordered the vanilla or at least a smaller portion. Although, they did bring some chocolates to my table for me to enjoy prior to. Maybe that was on me for that.

If you had to force me to go to the Louis Vuitton Café again, I would pretend to put up a fight, just so you’d be the one paying. It was delicious, it was luxury, and it was appropriately priced for what I got. Or in other words, it was expensive but worth it. If you are an American Express cardholder, this would be a great opportunity to earn your Resy credit and get a little cash back while you enjoy yourself.
But all in all, the Louis Vuitton Café was a delight to dine at. I hope to find myself there again to try more of the menu in the future.
