Scrolling through to see the new handbags at Nordstrom, and there she was. A turquoise Birkin 25 was sitting the site waiting to be ordered. And for only a little over $12,000. What a deal. You can get your Birkin without playing the Hermes game and earn Nordy Notes while doing it.
Rebag has been doing online consignment sales of luxury products for some time. They claim to vet all of the items that come their way, protecting buyers from counterfeits. However, Rebag is getting the bags from resellers and then passing those bags through Nordstrom retail channels. There are more hands at play. Any slip up in that chain will affect Nordstrom’s image.
Personally, I’d be wary of buying a Birkin bag online unable to verify the product beforehand. But maybe I’m just not the desired customer for this. I am certainly not in the spending bracket for this to even be a concern I can have. But what about you? Would you be willing to buy a Birkin through an online reseller? Would you trust the transaction more or less if it involved a brand like Nordstrom?
