Quick stay at the Omni Seaport

I visited Boston in the late fall. The hotel: Omni Hotel Seaport. It is a true conference center hotel. It had an expansive lobby, a huge number of rooms, and of course was right across the street from the conference center.

In the lobby was a collection of eclectic art. There were sculptures of shoes and slices of famous inventions. I could have spent more time thinking deeply about that I found while I was there.

As I made my way up to my room, I learned they were serious about it being two towers. I stayed in the Artist tower. I found out that even though there were two elevators, I could only take one. The hotel was split at perhaps the 11th floor. I learned the hard way by heading back down, walking across the building, and then heading up to my room.

The room reminded me of my stay at the one hotel. It was stripped back, but it seemed like it had a point of view. The minimalism seemed intentional, not like they just didn’t have a lot of stuff. And even though it was smaller than my room in Chicago at the Fairmont, I liked it more. It felt like they were trying to be thoughtful with everything they included.

My room had a city view, which was mostly towards the other towers in the hotel, overlooking the pool. (It was very awkward to realize that I could see people who probably thought they were having private morning exercise or romantic moments).

There was no desk, so I worked with my laptop on my desk, or the tiny stand. The issue with that was that the only visible outlets were either side of the bed, but none were near the couch. I had to make sure that my computer was already fully charged before I could get started typing.

There was a Keurig and bath products from a brand called Klur that I had never heard of.

In all, the room had everything I needed with a great view. The bed was comfortable enough. The only drawback was the lack of a closet. Other than that, I would highly recommend staying there, and I personally would look to stay there again.
