I decided to pop over to Starbucks to get some work done. A table and wifi in the middle of a busy morning seemed like a good idea. But then I pulled up, noticing the typically abandoned parking lot, buzzing with activity. Alas, it is Red Cup Day.
Each Red Cup Day, Starbucks provides a limited-edition free holiday themed reusable cup. It’s your gift with any purchase off of that season’s drink menu. Admittedly, I have participated multiple years, but let’s be real. It’s just a plastic cup.

That red cup has no thermal qualities. It has no straw. It isn’t leak proof. It’s really, just out here doing its best with a pretty picture on the side. And yet, so many people will be lining up desperate to get one of their very own.
