I decided to finally drink water for 30 days to improve my skin

I am now 30 days into my new challenge of drinking 64 ounces of water every day. I embarked on this journey for multiple reasons. The first and foremost, vainly, being my hope that it would improve my appearance and skin condition. As someone who constantly is concerned about dry skin and lips, I had to finally concede that perhaps the biggest solution I needed to seek out wasn’t just another product that I put on top. Maybe it was time to pursue hydration from within. 30 days later, this is what I’ve noticed so far.

Surprise: I noticed that my face is not as dry. There is a patch on my cheek and forehead that are the key indicators that a product isn’t ultra-hydrating. Invariably I would notice some dryness there. But now, it seems they aren’t acting up as much, even though I have not switched products up to address them. And my lips are much better. Before, I was struggling to find the perfect lip product.  While I had a week where my lips were excessively flaky, it seems like we are smooth sailing. I am by no means in perfectly plump territory at all times yet, but this is much better than it was before.

Even more so than my face, the skin on my body seems more hydrated. The biggest sign to me was when I had to revert back to using the Bum Bum Cream. Having used up my other moisturizer, I begrudgingly decided to use this product. But even though I previously went on a rant in a blog post about how it wasn’t good for my dry skin, it wasn’t as bad this time. My legs and elbow didn’t look as dry at the end of the day. Don’t get me wrong. My skin wasn’t ultra-hydrated and sheened with the moisture, but it wasn’t ashy and dry. And that caught my full attention.

I am only 30 days again. Most nutrition and health changes take upwards of 3 months (or more) to notice the full effects. I am going to keep going to see how my skin continues to change. And of course, I will be back here to tell you my results.
