If I deserve a treat…

Just a quick musing: Yesterday was Treat Yo’ Self Day, the holiday proclaimed by characters on the sitcom Parks and Recreation. I noticed that no brands have seem to taken advantage of this. There was no cheeky reference to the show, no recommendation to make special purchases, no additional pushes to buy. That’s all well and good, but was it a lost opportunity? Should brands be paying attention to fandoms like this? As a fan, would it annoy you more if there was extra marketing around this day? I curious. Let me know what you think.
