A little truth about skincare

My life right now has been oddly busy. All of it has had to do with the choices that I have made, with the hope that it will all pay off. This is especially difficult, because I feel like I’m putting in a lot of work and seeing zero results. But I trust this will be worth it in the end. And so it is with skincare.

When you feel like you have problem skin, you want instant results. You want the skincare you try to fix it yesterday. The truth is that it all takes time. Even if I’m trying a product for three days, the review I write is still just a “first impression” of the product. It takes weeks, nay months, for real results. (And I’m not a dermatologist, but I’m not sure that you really would want your skin to be so lacking in resilience that it immediately responds to whatever you put on it. Like, maybe it shouldn’t be so susceptible to environmental changes anyway. That may not be true, though.)

As hard it may be, give your products time to work. Allow yourself to become consistent with your routine. And then if after four weeks you still notice zero results (but more likely 12 is better), feel free to move on to the next thing.

It won’t happen overnight, but it will definitely get better overtime. Give yourself a chance for the real results to come.
