Dunkin and Tarte, Magnolia Bakery and Glossier, Baskin’ Robbin and Laneige. You could say that this summer, brands are really trying to make their lip products more of a sweet treat.
The Laneige collab with Baskin Robbins is a Rainbow Sherbet flavored Lip Sleeping Mask. Tarte x Dunkin lip tint comes in flavors ice pop and lolli and with a charm shaped like a coffee cup. Finally the Glossier Balm Dot Com comes in the flavor of Magnolia Bakery’s fan favorite banana pudding.
Instead of taking the time now to really research the background on these partnerships, with the why and possible directions they hope it will take, I’ll just say this: this looks like fun. Personally I want my lip products to taste good. Donuts, ice cream, and banana pudding all taste good. I’m actually curious how the flavor of each of these products interprets the inspiration. I’m more so curious if these flavors will do well enough to stick around and become part of the permanent selection.
