To really keep up with the Kardashians

A couple of years back, I watched a random video. The creator was outlining all of the Kardashians’ failed business ventures. From a collaboration with K-Mart to luxury beauty, then their standalone store all the way to e-commerce, it was all chronicled and ridiculed. They clearly had so many busts.

But let’s be real, that’s not actually a bad thing.

Having a history of failed business ventures may not be the norm, but neither is coming back to continue to try after each failure isn’t. Yes, it certainly helps if you have a circle of millionaires around to catch you if you fall. And it also helps if you have the freedom to fail without feeling your family’s livelihood is at stake. However, I would imagine that the current success of Kylie Cosmetics and Skims and Good American is based on the learnings of those previous failures.

While I have no intention of truly holding up any member of that family as a beacon of inspiration, I will take that one bit of advice. You have to be willing to put your idea into the world. You have to be willing to put in the work to build it up. And you have to be open to the possibility that it might fail and still do it anyway. And if you fail, you need to be ready to get back up and try again.
