The email came through, full of all the new brands launching. Instead of excitement I felt overwhelm. Still? More? How many more players do we need in the beauty market? Is there really space for every celebrity, former model, and influencer to start a line? At what point will the metaphorical e-comm shelves start caving in? Will it ever be too much?
And yet it’s not enough. There is still space for you to try.
Not every brand that launches will be around at the five year mark. Not every brand will make it even six months. Gaps will open up. Needs will continue to go unmet. Consumers might still be craving something else.
Yes, there are a lot of product releases right now. Yes, it seems as if every influencer and mom is starting a new business. Yes, it seems like the market is being saturated, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.
What is your idea? What is your specific angle? How can you cut through the noise of the crowded marketplace? How can you shift the customer’s mindset from, “That’s too much,” to “That is the perfect product I’ve been waiting for”?
