It has been a long string of late nights, working, traveling, and generally goofing off. I find myself tired in the middle of the day, falling asleep on speakers, and generally feeling rough.. Perhaps the lack of sleep has freed up more time for me to be productive, but I’m wearing the effects of it on my face. And I don’t just mean all my extra yawning.
Here is why Beauty Sleep is not just a cute saying.

Your body uses sleep as a time to repair itself. Your skin is no different. When you get less sleep, it impacts your skin’s ability to create collagen, repair its barrier, and retain moisture. When people say you look tired, they can see it in your dark circles and puffy eyes, yes, but it also shows up in changes in your skin texture and inflammation.
As I look in the mirror myself, I have to recognize that some of my issues won’t be fixed by more expensive skincare products. The issues I have now have a very specific cause. The best solution will be a good nights’ sleep, consistently. I have to start prioritizing my beauty rest.
Are you getting enough sleep?
