A soft rose scent from Chloé

I woke up and wanted to smell sweet and feminine and floral, for some strange reason. Perhaps it was a callback to the favorite scents of my youth. Or maybe I was just looking for something to shift my mood for the day. I scoured my collection to see if I could find something to fit this rare occasion.

Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Lumineuse

$105 for 30 mL

Notes: Rose, jasmine sambac, vanilla, amber, patchouli

I landed on Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Lumineuse. It wasn’t exactly what I was looking for in the moment. It wasn’t the sickeningly sweet scent I had in mind. Instead, it was more age appropriate in its floral sweetness. Instead of smelling like I was at the mall, walking about with my teenaged peers, I smelled like I was at the property with my own money. Maybe there to buy a special occasion dress, eat brunch at a restaurant, or consider an investment in the property. The rose in this reads mature and grown-up, but not elderly.

When I wore this out, no one seemed to notice what I was wearing. I would say that it had moderate longevity and projection.

As I think more about this scent and its notes, I can help but compare it to the Lancome Idôle line. These fragrances have a similar base of rose, jasmine, and vanilla. Personally, I’m thinking about my experience with Idôle Aura which had more projection and got me compliments. If you already have one of those fragrances, you likely don’t need this one in your fragrance arsenal as well.

But if you are just now looking for a soft modern rose, take a look at Chloé L’Eau de Parfum Lumineuse.
