On legacy

The world received news yesterday that former president Jimmy Carter passed away at 100 years old. An entire century of life. Rather than recap a celebration of his life, that you can get at pretty much any news outlet right now, I just want to reflect on the idea of legacy.

There are those who would say that President Carter’s more than 40 years post presidency were the most meaningful. (Others would disagree, but that’s not important right now.) It was his humanitarian work that really endeared a generation around the world to him and his work.

Your legacy may be built in ways you don’t expect. It may not be the path you most expect.
