Backstory Coffee in Minneapolis fuels my imagination

As I looked up the coffee shops I ought to try in Minneapolis, I came across Backstory. The name alone was reason enough to pique my curiosity. I decided to visit their location inside The Duffey.

I got up to the front of the line and felt spoilt for choice with the baked goods on display. I ended up settling on the asparagus Danish and getting a seasonal peaches and cream latte. This is sad, but I was really excited because of how my items tasted. It’s a shame how shocked I was that it was all real. The Danish had real asparagus properly cooked and housed in a flaky crust. The latte tasted of fresh peaches, concentrated to make the syrup. As good as the food was, my favorite part might have been the décor.

Filled with lush greenery, books, and odds and ends, it looked like the home of a magical eccentric traveler. Or perhaps like a room in Clue. It was Colonel Mustard in the conservatory, and definitely with one of the plentiful lamps.

Drawn by a great combo of a good menu and beautiful aesthetics, I would certainly be back to visit Backstory the next time I’m back in Minneapolis.
