I popped in to watch the live stream of the Louis Vuitton men’s show. The live chat was already going. S. Jackson! Jackson! Jackson! Viewers were clamoring for Jackson Wang, just to get view of him heading into the show or seated first row. I can’t be sure if they were there for the clothes at all.
It made me wonder. Though there are certainly more brand impressions due to the celebrities they brought in, does that translate into better sales at all? At what point is the popularity of a celebrity endorser or ambassador actually a negative? When does it make sense to use celebrities in your marketing and when you should you avoid them?
