Here is a very short review of The Robey, Chicago

This might be my most room centered room review ever. When I stayed at the Robey Hotel, I didn’t see any amenities, a restaurant, or really even the hallway. Why, shortly after my check-in, I was too sick to do anything at all. At the very least, here is what I thought of the room.

Quickly, the check-in process brought me back to the past. I got a room key. An actual, physical key. When I went up to my room, I luckily still had enough energy to take some photos of the room.

The bedroom was small and practical. It seems they really wanted to maximize the limitations of their urban footprint. Because I spend the majority of my time sleeping, I will say that the bed was very likely comfortable. Or at the very least, not so uncomfortable that I was unable to get my much needed rest.

The bathroom was simple and narrow. It had Le Labo toiletries in the santal scent. (And after years of wanting to try it out, I was not nearly impressed as I thought the hype warranted.)

There are few key amenities I noted, that I found especially useful to me. There were the typically coffee maker and refrigerator. A special addition I’ve not seen before in a hotel is the noise machine. How useful and thoughtful. Luckily, or unluckily, I was out and fell asleep easily without needing to use it.

There were hotel restaurants and room service. The neighborhood was lively and had a lot of the shopping I was interested in. But alas I didn’t get to experience any of it.

Personally, I would like to go back to experience the place it is fullness. From the little bit that I have seen, I think you should give it a look as well. If you looking to stay in the heart of Chicago, maybe add Robey Hotel to list of places to say.
