Another sale is upon us

I have been slowly adding items to my cart. I’ve checked for new items. Ooh another fragrance sampler? A new sunscreen? More colors? All of you, into the online basket. And then once I was satisfied, I closed my laptop and walked away. No purchases were made.

The Sephora sale is on now. It is a great time to save a little money on beauty products. But it is also a great way to overspend on products you don’t really need or want. Or me, it was a time I got got by consumerism and ended up with way too many things. Sometimes I’d find I still have unused products by the time the next sale comes around. To save money, I made the counterintuitive decision earlier this year that I won’t buy things just because they are on sale.

That means I probably won’t be buying anything during this sales period, but that is okay. I still have all of the products I need. And if I happen to run out at a time while everything is full price, so be it. Then I will just replace what needs to be replaced instead of engaging in wasteful spending.

I won’t lie to you. It certainly feels like I’m missing out. And I am worried that prices will be increasing on a lot of the products soon. But I’m going to hold strong and not allow myself to be driven by fears of scarcity. If you, too, are trying to save money and not get sucked in to the sale. Hold strong, you’re doing great.
