Social media check

It’s hard to imagine now, but there was a time before social media. From humble beginnings with just those adventurous early adopters, to now most of the world having a social media account of some time. It is so ubiquitous that brands have shifted their resources to do digital first marketing. Everyone is on social media, so every brand needs to be there, too. Right? Maybe.

Ask yourself who your target market is. Is that group on social media? Is that the best way to reach them? Do you have the resources to maintain accounts (and monitor your usage to avoid scandal)? Is social media where it makes sense to devote your resources? At the end of the day, the fantastic invention that is social media is a wonderful tool, but you have to consider how it can fit into your overall strategy.
