More restaurants to consider for your Asheville vacation

Let’s just jump right in and extend your list of restaurants to consider for the next time you might be Asheville, North Carolina.

Early Girl Eatery– This spot offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We went for a Sunday brunch. I ordered the biscuit French toast. I was told that is the item they are most know for and a must try. I got to admit, I was happy with my apple cinnamon version but was left pondering how good it would have been to have the version with a piece of fried chicken. One thing to note if you are planning to visit on a Sunday, is that you should expect a wait for brunch time. We had a 30-45 minute wait for our table, which we used to explore the shops close by.

Hole Doughnuts– These yeasted doughnuts are freshly made to order, so you might want to call ahead to put in your order, or expect to wait for them to be made. We tried their three main flavors Vanilla Glazed, Toasted Almond Sesame Cinnamon, Cinnamon Sugar. They were all delicious, like all of them, but I was surprised I liked the sesame version so much.

Red Ginger– This is a dim sum and tapas restaurant. I am still entirely sure about the tapas part, but the dim sum we had was good. A pro tip is to get seated outside for a shorter wait. Even though it was winter, it was quite warm in there with the heaters and the temporary enclosure they had up. We were seated quickly, food came fast after ordering, and it was all around good experience.

Taqueria Muñoz- If you are looking for authentic tacos, look no further. You will be spoiled for choice here. I am not even sure what all we ordered, but I wished we had ordered more, but we were heading out on a hike and didn’t want to do so on a food coma. We called ahead to place an order, since we were such a large group, but you could easily order inside. The restaurant is also connected to a market, if you are looking for some ingredients that might be hard to fine in your hometown, or just some Mexican junk food snacks.

French Broad Chocolates– Saving the best for last. We went to this place and had to wait in a wraparound line, but it was all worth it. The line winds through the aisles of product that tempt you. I picked up their milk chocolate and dark chocolate tasting packs. In store, I had a mix of the peppermint and chocolate ice creams. I definitely recommend the combo. And overall, the shop is a great place to stop if you need a gift for a chocolate lover, even if that’s just you. (They also offer a tour of their chocolate factory if you have the time.)
