It’s midnight and you can’t sleep. You’re still thinking about what that woman said to you, all those years ago.
It’s 3 PM. You’re exhausted at midday because the job your parents forced you into is draining you.
It’s 7 AM. Your eyes spring open. Your first thought is a list of all the things you need to do for all those other people.
It’s now. When will you start to think of you?
Rather than a continuous story about you, you’ve broken your life into a set of vignettes, each story revolving around a different character. None of them are you. All of the plot, all of the action centers on them. They move the story along; you don’t. But you know, it’s not too late to scrap that script. It’s not too late to take your creative license and make massive changes. You can still recast the lead role as you. You can reorganize the plot to center on your goals and desires. You can reintroduce pivotal characters who will help you along the way.

You are the director, producer, screenwriter, and camera operator. You get to decide the focus of your life. Maybe it’s time to make it about you.
What great adventures will your lead take on next.
This is the video that inspired this all. You can find a transcript below.
Life is a movie and you’re the director. Choose the script. Cast the characters. Just make sure you give yourself the leading role. Who did you cast as the lead in the movie that is your life? – Samio Renelda
