Today I found The Prepster Ultra Advanced Fireproof Emergency Bag by Preppi on the Saks Fifth Avenue site. This product is $4995. The bag is made out of custom fire and water-retardant aluminum canvas and natural bridle leather. It includes not just the typical survival items, but also luxury items, including products from Marvis dental, Malin + Goetz, and Kusmi. It also has a votive candle and premium chocolate.

I could easily complain and ask, “Why in the world is this thing so expensive?” I won’t. I imagine the product exists (and it sells) there are people who are interested in this. The brand itself offers cheaper options and a whole multitude of options exist for those look for more cost- effective ways to prepare for emergencies.
I am kind of curious about the reviews, but am also hoping no one who gets it endures situations where they will need it. How does that offering change your experience? Does it help address some of the stress of the situation at all?
What I guess is that The Prepster notices a gap. There were options for people who wanted to maintain the luxury feel when the world feels like its falling apart.
