Testing out the Elemis Ultra Smart Pro-Collagen Enviro-Adapt Day Cream

At $295 per jar, I am glad that I didn’t fall head over heels for the Elemis Ultra Smart Pro-Collagen Enviro-Adapt Day Cream. This is a thick cream designed to help maturing skin become more resilient and adapt to differing conditions throughout the day.

I only had a deluxe sample to work with. I wasn’t sure how much I was supposed to use. I only used in it the day, then I put sunscreen over it. All that to say, take my review with a grain of salt.

The first morning I used it, I felt that my skin looked matte, if that makes sense. Which left me unconvinced. And then, heading out for the day, I put on sunscreen over it. I noticed I had a few dry patches on my face at the end of the day.

The next day, I was unconvinced I had applied enough previously so I squeezed much more product on my hand. And then because it was a rainy day, I forgot to put on sunscreen. My skin was much better throughout the day. I can be sure if it was due to using more product, not applying sunscreen, or the humidity in the air due to the rain.

Admittedly, this is a product, that unbeknownst to me when trying it, was designed to meet the needs of mature skin. Based on the reviews of the product, what people seemed to really like about it is that it provided moisture without it being “greasy.” And users seemed to find overtime it did reduce their lines. It also has the added benefit of responding to micro-climatic changes. I am still piecing together what that phrase means, but I am thinking this would include the shifts in the weather throughout the day and differences between indoor and outdoor environment. I didn’t see anyone write on that aspect.

Personally, I didn’t dislike the product completely. I believe this is something I would have to try out for a longer period and really take notes on how my skin behaves. But being someone with quite dry skin, I prefer products that give me a dewy finish, with confidence that I won’t have dry patches throughout the day. (I’m thinking their Pro collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich would be a better match for my skin.)

However if you are looking for a moisturizer that doesn’t feel too greasy and is designed to address age-related skin concerns, give this one a go. It might be especially good if you have normal or combination skin.

I’m curious. Have you tried anything from Elemis?
