Asking for help is assertiveness

I know personally I was formed with the belief that asking for help meant you were weak. To appear strong or powerful, it was necessary to at least look like I were able to do it all myself. Yet TJ Guttormsen (in his LinkedIn Learning course on communication which I can’t remember the name of) said that asking for help is a sign of assertiveness. It shows that you are capable of going after what you want and need.

All of the times I didn’t speak up for what I needed, I was just all the weaker, not stronger.

This is just a quick post to remind you to ask for what you need. Asking for help is asserting your power to achieve the life you want using the resources available to you. Speak up for what you need.
