I had a coworker, who smelled amazing every time she passed by. And yet each time I was surprised to hear that the scent was Sol de Janeiro, “the purple one.” The purple one, officially Cheirosa 59, is the scent associated with the brand’s Delicia Drench Body Butter. The fragrance is deep floral with touches of sweetness. It is more mature than the sweet pistachio of the uber popular Cheirosa 52 of the Bum Bum Cream.
Unfortunately, I got zero compliments the past few days I’ve wearing this fragrance. But I can say that I smelled myself throughout the day, and I smelled good. I was actually surprised by the longevity of the scent. Because I classified it as a body spray in my mind, that meant a big punch early on but a fade in the next few hours. Well, to be exact, this is considered a perfume mist. Maybe that changes things.
As I was looking through the website to research this article, I came across this statement, “Scientifically shown to boost your mood.” I can’t say that I noticed any difference between pre- and post-spray mood, but I definitely had a great day yesterday. Was it the fragrance? I guess I’ll never know.
But if you are looking for a fragrance mist that smells great and at a more affordable price point, definitely give Cheirosa 59 and the entire Sol de Janeiro line a try. I for one hope to try the new Rosa Dewy Cream body cream and Cheirosa 91 scent next.
