While I was looking an alternative to a discontinued fragrance that I fell in love with as a teenager. It was scent that made feel beautiful and start to think more about the power of scent. The beauty advisor at Sephora suggested Dior’s Hypnotic Poison as a good alternative. I remember I got a tester and one of my friends said “That smells like you.” Years later and now I’ve invested in a full bottle. I’ve been wearing the fragrance all week.
On me the scent is sweet, but no sickeningly so. It is the almond note that takes center stage on my skin. And I find that the scent lasts all day long on my skin.

Over these past few days, I received no compliments. I just blended into the crowd. No one said a word. I liked the way I smelled but maybe it was too old timey for the modern taste. But today was different.
I sprayed each of my wrists and then headed out to a fitness class. After a quick outfit change I was off, expecting my scent to have died down. And yet, there it came, the deluge of “You smell good,” “What scent are you wearing?”
I’ve been wearing this fragrance on regular days, but I imagine it is meant to be sultry. So perhaps it’s for date night, or maybe it’s just to be alluring any time of day.
If you’re looking for a sultry feminine scent, maybe it’s time try Hypnotic Poison.
PSA: If I were to find something I don’t like about this, it would be the scent cloud. I find it especially unpleasant to breathe in. maybe I would be better off to use the roller ball or lotion. Also, the fragrance that started this search, Victoria’s Secret Rapture, is back for a limited time. Stay tuned.
