When I asked for restaurant recommendations on my recent trip to stay in the Seaport District of Boston, I was told that I had to go to Mida. It would be worth the trip. So there I found myself, taking buses and trains out to the South End location on a rainy day.
I popped into the established Italian restaurant by Douglass Williams for an early lunch.

I poured over the menu before asking the waiter for inputs. “Would the burrata be too much for one person?” He told me not to worry about that. If anything, it would be the bread that would fill be up. Should I get the bolognese or the gnocchi?” Definitely the bolognese. This time I decided to listed to the advice.

My mocktail came first, the Sorrento Spritz. It was lovely and bright. Just enough sweetness as I looked out on the dreary day. And then the Burrata con Pesto came to the table. It was absolutely delicious. The pesto was not the typical basil pesto I was used to. It was arugula, pistachio, and golden raisin. Surprisingly, the raisins were a welcome addition to the plate.

Then the Paccheri Bolognese came and I was excited for each bite. I thought of asking for a spoon to scoop up more of the sauce. Maybe, I ate a little too fast out of glee. I do wish the sauce were a little thicker to stick to the pasta more. But alas, it did the job of being a comforting dish.

I pushed myself away from the table, satisfied, and went to walk off the meal to continue exploring the town. Luckily for you, if you are in Boston, there are multiple locations for you to choose from. Also, maybe check out Apizza, the additional location which is absolutely all about pizza.
