So how are the restaurants at the Omni Hotel Boston Seaport?

During my stay at the Omni Hotel Boston at the Seaport, I made sure to try as much of the restaurants as I could. Because I booked through American Express, I got a head start with the daily breakfast credit. I used that to get a daily taste of Kestra.

My first morning, I ordered the short rib, and that was my bad. Along with the fried potatoes, it was just too heavy and fatty for my breakfast liking. Maybe after a full day of sightseeing, I would have liked it more.

On day two I ordered the yogurt and granola. It came with, what I believe to be, stewed fruit and the tastiest granola that I can only hope to recreate or reorder. This was my favorite breakfast.

For my last breakfast, I ordered the avocado toast with a side of bacon. There was too much avocado for my liking. In general, it was nothing to write home about. No special flare or seasonings, just avocado and toast. That should not be a surprise, but alas here I am.

For dinner I ordered a poke bowl at Lifted. My travel companion ordered the duck dumplings. We were both pleased with our meals, but I am still thinking about the lobster roll. It was advertised as with caramel sauce. The very idea of boldly putting caramel on seafood triggered my curiosity, but not enough for me to order it. I may never know if the chef’s creation was delicious or just as bizarre a pairing as it seemed.

The last day, we went to The Sporting Club. I went basic and ordered the hot dog. And you know what? It was so delicious. The only problem was that it came with tortilla chips and spicy salsa. You gotta let people know stuff is spicy on the menu. Luckily, I can handle spice. But also, why chips and salsa? It felt like I was at a cookout and just pouring random things onto my plate. I wish there was a little more thought into the pairing and how the flavor would pair with the hot dog. Why not potato chip or fries? Or to draw inspiration from the ballpark, nachos?

I had a good experience at each of the restaurants, but I wouldn’t say that any of them are a must visit. If you are looking for the convenience of grabbing something to eat just a short distance from your room, these are great options. However, Boston has so many amazing restaurants, you shouldn’t feel too bad missing out if you choose to explore instead.

I do wish I’d had a chance to try in-room dining and the other restaurants on property, including Coquette. Maybe that’s for a future trip.
