I just tried two more Miu Miu fragrances. Here’s what I thought.

A few weeks ago, I told you my thoughts on Miutine by Miu Miu. I wasn’t a big fan of it. I couldn’t really detect the notes on my skin. It could have been the fragrance; it could have also been by nasal congestion. I wasn’t sure. You might think I’m coming to you now with the follow-up to that, like I promised I’d do. But no. Instead, I got to smelling two other Miu Miu fragrances. Walking around Nordstrom today, I noticed, right next to Miutine were L’eau Muguet and L’eau Bleue.

L’eau Muguet is a powdery floral and the first feminine fragrance from the brand. As I sniff it,dare I say rose? But there’s something there behind it. Nope, it’s lily.

L’eau Bleue smells clean. It was my instant favorite between the two. I sprayed L’eau Bleue on skin and am enjoying it now. It feels like the soft, clean scent I’d wear daily. Somehow, the fact that it’s softer and more subtle on skin and not as true to the paper is making me like it even more. (Wrong again, it’s also lily. In my defense, and educational document from the Smithsonian rose gardens says that the scents are associated.)

Of the two, L’eau Muguet smells much more formal. L’eau bleue seems more easygoing and relaxed. I think I would need to try Muguet on skin to really get a feel for how it would work on me. But if I had to choose right now, I would say it feels like the kind of scent worn by a woman who uses the term “powder room.” I don’t know if it would work very well with my personality. However, I could see myself investing in L’eau Bleue to get to know it more. I would very likely just spray it on for regular daily activities.

If you are also becoming a major fan of lily fragrances, are looking for a powdery floral, or are just looking for a new fresher take on florals, I suggest you try these fragrances from Miu Miu.
