Bet you never heard of this version of Sauvage from Dior?

Begrudgingly, I tried my sample of Balade Sauvage, from Dior’s La Collection Privée. I was expecting it to be overpowering and masculine, just like the famous Sauvage. But instead, I find myself really enjoying wearing it. The first spray was a surprise. The many sprays after that were a specific, intentional choice.

I honestly could not have told you what it smelled like, only that I like the smell. Looking at the site now, they say that it “calls to mind an escape to a cliff top lined with fig trees.” Maybe? I suppose it does smell brighter and more hopeful than I was expecting. It’s got woody notes, bergamot, fig, and the addition of mineral volcanic rock.

If you already know and love Sauvage, just know that this will not be a projection monster like that is. They both are citrus and woody, but perhaps for different vibes. Balade Sauvage, I find, plays more unisex and is more daytime office appropriate.  If you have ever been overwhelmed by a Sauvage cloud before, come to the gentle comfort of Balade Sauvage.
