This past Tuesday was Election Day in the U.S. As I thought about what the scent of the day would be, the obvious choice was Libre. Given that it means Free, evoking the American value of freedom. But I didn’t go with the original. I decided to wear Libre Flowers and Flames.
If you already know and love Libre eau de parfum, rest assured that this is not going to be more of the same. You will still get the orange blossom, but it is bringing its own scent. It feels more like a solar floral, more carefree than the original fragrance. And now that it has dried down, it feels sweeter as the vanilla base is more present.

$180 for 90 mL
Key notes: Orange blossom, diva lavender heart, coco-palm tree flower accord, lily flower accord, bourbon vanilla
I have to admit, there is something about this fragrance that I didn’t like initially. It seemed too strong, too loud, which is something that I seem to notice with orange blossom fragrances. But the more time I spent with it, the more I started to enjoy it.
Every day that I spray this on myself I enjoy it more. I’m surprised that no one has said anything about it since I’m starting to go heavier with the sprays. I can smell myself throughout the day, but maybe no one else can. Maybe it doesn’t project as far as I think it does.
The fragrance has moderate longevity. Today, I sprayed it on at 5. At 10 it has mostly faded, but I can certainly still smell it on my wrists.
I could see myself wearing this more and more, perhaps even getting a full bottle. But if you are interested, I recommend you try it in or store first or get a sample. There seem to be mixed reviews online so don’t just take my word for it. (But if you do decide to purchase, be sure to take advantage of the current Sephora sale or the upcoming promos as we get into the winter holiday retail season.)
