Olivier Rousteing is out. The young designer who was the first Black head of a luxury French house is out after 14 years at the helm of Balmain. In that time he revolutionized things. Or maybe I’m just biased because he was so visible in a time that I was growing in my fashion era. So what’s next? No one knows.
Normally the rumor mill is already going. At this point people usefully have a good idea where the designer will be going, but there is nothing there. Will he be moving to another brand, or will he be creating his own?
